Re: 6790K Dual limiter mods?

Happy Halloween Paia Phans!! Especially gaetanopellino buon pomeriggio An LED to show limiter action is a good mod idea. I haven’t used my 6790 in quite some time so I had to review the schematic and reread the theory of operation. I recall that the 6750 Hyperflanger and 5760 Rocktive Dividor used t...

Re: FatMan mod advice

hi skip wasnt familiar with Dave Brown's stuff, Wow!! Quite a website!. Found the Fatman mod pdf page. As far a how to do the mod: I think it would be better not to cut any traces on a working Fatman pcb. Try clipping the IC's pin on the top side of the pcb. Clip it right at the top of the pcb then ...

Re: Midi Cable from Keyboard to Fatman

Hello Skip, I've always used my ancient Yamaha SHS-10 for testing midi ins&outs. Just used a regular 5pin MIDI cable to test the synth engines in various synths https://www.synthfind.com/category/yamaha/shs-10/ Any recent keyboard should have MIDI (?) Dont know about the USB-2-MIDI that U speak of. ...

Re: 9720 Osc A as a dedicated LFO

Hmmm..Theory of Operation doesn't mention R29 or S2.... :|

Try increasing the main charge capacitor: C11....that should make the ramp last for days!!

Re: 9720 Osc A as a dedicated LFO

Why not whip out the ol' soldering iron and just try it? Report back with ur results. Re-read the theory of operation in the manual. What component(s) determines the oscillators frequency? So? U like it s L o w? :-)

Re: transformer rewinders

Don't think I can help with ur amp p/s. sure, about the multiple transformers, anything is possible given time and expense. Practical? not so much. My thought? Transformer voltages sound stable. Check all capacitors for leakage. Then replace any that are.

Re: transformer rewinders

Hi all, Does anyone know of a reputable transformer rewinding service? I have a highly customized one from an amp that's needing repair. Thanks for your help Hey buck, got ur mask on?? rewinding a transformer would seem to be the last resort. Professional transformer rebuilders/rewinders are not ch...

Re: 9710 VCA inverted CV output

Yes, that should work. Input to CVleft goes to inverters IC3d and IC3a. IC3c drives tranny Q2 180deg from Q1. Yes, the ivoltage at test point “B” should be the inverted voltage you’re looking for! It’s already “normalized” into IC3c thru J5, but I would add a buffer before going to a front panel jac...

Re: 9710 VCA inverted CV output

it's been quite a while since i looked at the 9710 schematic.

i'm thinking that any voltage brought out to the front panel would require a noninverting buffer (NIB). (Input on +, - tied to output)

Let me study sch more. I'll be back......

Re: 9720 increase Attack time of AD envelope

don't see a "R95"(?)

the resistors in series with attack and decay don't need to be changed if u increase C22.
For increasing both attack and decay, just increase C22.

just add another 1mfd in parallel with C22.

Maybe add a switch to switch-in one or more parallel caps.

Keep that Paia Phlying!!
